Examples of Design

here are some examples of some of the effects I hope to try and create and gather ideas from...

http://www.cryptarismission.com/#

This site uses animated shapes that fly at the screen from a vanishing point seemingly deep behind the screen, combined with particles to create and amazing sense of depth and atmosphere. The site also responds to movement of the mouse as if looking around slightly in first person, altering the perspective of the screen.

A simple but effective use of a combination of on/off states and animation to create a digital rubiks cube. Even the small things can go a long way for an interactive experience.

This site features a rotatable model of the solar system. The planets are click/draggable around an orbit and the relevant information changes.

The thumbnail images on this portfolio site fly around the screen as the page transitions. I think this is where ill start. A simple but engaging use of 3d.

This is a small 3d world seemingly made from a combination of CSS3 shapes and Javascript. The world features altering states of gravity, rotating viewpoints, clickable interactions and a few other little tricks. Although this is certainly above my pay grade, it is inspiring none the less. and a testiment to the power of the two most commonly used coding languages used on the web.
